Actually, Chinese travelers as well as 22 other countries are only able to request a visa on their arrival in Thailand. The new eVisa Thailand will enable citizens of these countries to get an eVisa prior to travel.
Travelers who wish to enter Thailand but are not from a visa-exempt country, will have to apply for an Eta Thailand in order to travel to the country.
The Visa for Thailand must be obtained at the closest Thai diplomatic Embassy or Consulate. Nationals from the 22 countries are also eligible to obtain a Thailand visa on their arrival.
The Evisa Thailand will soon be available for citizens of France, China, the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates.
In 2019, it is expected to have more countries forming part of the list of eligible countries for the eVisa Thailand.
